Thanks to visionary ideas, the historic locomotives from the very beginning were saved and brought back to life. Zermatt entrepreneur and our CEO, Benjamin Schaller, acquired one of these locomotives by chance and had the creative idea of ​​presenting it as the centerpiece of the restaurant in a carefully restored stone vault. Thus, in June 2022, the “Golden Lok Ristorante Pizzeria” opened at Hotel Schaller’s Tannenhof, where the gilded locomotive He 2/2 3001 delights guests.

But a good idea alone wasn’t enough. In autumn 2022, planning began to preserve the other two locomotives and make them accessible to the public. The result was a reinterpretation of the trilogy: three first-generation locomotives, brilliantly presented in three prominent locations – one here with us in our parking lot in Täsch, one in the heart of Zermatt, and one on the Gornergrat.
